Privacy notice

Home Reminders is a personal application operated by Brian. Its Google Calendar integration is active. This notice describes the connection and how personal reminder data is handled.

Calendar access and purpose

With the account holder’s authorization, the application accesses calendar event details needed to display and manage reminders: event identifiers, titles, descriptions, due dates and times, recurrence rules and notification settings. It uses Google Calendar to create, read and update reminder events and to remove or cancel an event when the owner requests it. It does not need access to Gmail, Contacts or Drive for this calendar feature.

Where information is stored

Reminder records are stored on the owner’s home-server system. Events added to Google Calendar are also stored by Google under the account’s settings and Google’s privacy terms. Calendar access credentials are held privately on the home-server system, outside publicly served website files. Local operational logs and backups may retain records needed to run or restore the system.

Sharing and use

Calendar data is used to provide the owner’s reminder functions. It is not sold, used for advertising or provided to third parties for their independent purposes. Google receives data necessary for the calendar integration. Personal task reminders use Google Calendar notifications. The former Telegram task-reminder route is disabled; unrelated server-monitoring alerts are separate.

Home Reminders’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention and control

The owner can edit or remove reminder records and corresponding events. Deleting a record does not necessarily remove older copies in backups. The owner can revoke the application’s Google access at Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents further calendar access but does not itself delete existing Google Calendar events or local records.

This public website

These information pages do not collect reminder submissions, display private calendar data or include application analytics or tracking scripts. The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and access logs, to deliver and secure the website.
